Cavanaugh has been trying to recruit Magdalene for a long time, and he offers her everything she could possibly desire in exchange for signing on as one of his Deathwalkers. He even claims he has a way to balance the scales of cosmic justice and to ensure evil people like Stan are punished.

But the Dead are uneasy with Cavanaugh’s project, and Magdalene suspects he’s hiding things from her, including the real reason she’s there. As she delves deeper into the project and becomes closer with the man himself, she begins to doubt everything she’s ever known.
